A photograph fulfills my deep need to stop things disappearing. In photography I have tried to create order out of chaos, to find stability in flux and beauty in the most unlikely places.
Dorothy BohmIt was taken one gentle morning at the harbour. The interior of a cruise ship, which was standing empty and waiting for passengers. The light was coming in very softly through the window and it occured to me that, although this empty seat looks lonely, there is a hidden beauty in this scene, as if this dusty red curtain was revealing that beauty for me. If something like "intimacy of space" existed, that would a perfect example. Maybe a good idea for a photo project? I'll keep it in mind.
I really like many things in this photo, but this time I will use a quote from someone dear to me who have seen this photo: "I know my opinion is unimportant, because I am not an expert and I know little, but looking at your previous and current works (all of which are wonderful!) you become mature (I don't know how else to say it), you see what we would pass over and you bring out that something, that fleeting, unrepeatable moment, a fraction of a second... and soul trembles.
