It’s not how a photographer looks at the world that is important. It’s their intimate relationship with it.
Antoine D’AgataAt the entrance to the port of Gdynia, you can see the colossal container ships. It took my breath away when I saw this brave little sailing ship coming straight for them. A classic David versus Goliath scene. On top of that, there was mist coming in from the sea, which added to the atmosphere of the scene.
I feel a sense of calm when I look at this photograph, despite the drama that is unfolding. Sometimes less is more - this golden rule works here. It is not taken by the best camera and lens, but somehow this grainy and not-so-sharp look creates a sort of vintage aesthetics that I personally enjoy.
